My name is Rebecca Saunders and I am an Authorised Marriage Celebrant, based in Launceston, Tasmania.
After raising our three boys to be self-sufficient (sort of) I decided it was time to try something new for myself.
Years ago I had a conversation with a really good friend about becoming a marriage celebrant and I started thinking that perhaps the time had come.
And so, I embarked on my own journey and now that I have numerous ceremonies under my belt, I know with 100% certainty that this has been the right choice for me. I love the idea of helping people fulfil their dreams and it would be an honour for me to be a part of your special day.
I’m happy to perform ceremonies state-wide, so give me a call or send me a message.
First, we would schedule an initial meeting to introduce ourselves and have a chat about what your dream wedding looks like.
Second, lock in your date! The wedding season is relatively short and bookings are usually filling up quickly.
I am available 7 days a week and will travel to your location. It is my goal to work with you to create your own personal and uniquely different ceremony.
A Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrant plays an important role in our communities.
A civil marriage celebrant is authorised by the government to perform legal civil marriages in a dignified and culturally acceptable manner, for those who choose a non-religious ceremony.
As such, as a celebrant, I have legal responsibilities I must follow. These rules are contained within the Marriage Act 1961 and the Marriage Regulations 2017 (including the Code of Practice for marriage celebrants).
In Australia authorised marriage celebrants may also conduct other celebrations such as naming ceremonies, vow renewal, funerals, divorce, significant birthday, retirement and other life milestones.
Myself and Matt would love to say that we were so pleased to have Rebecca Saunders – Authorised Celebrant to marry us on our special day. Bec was amazing in all aspects of before, during and after, we couldn’t have picked a better person to share our special journey to Mr and Mrs.

She was personable, relatable, kind, welcoming and absolutely flawless with her delivery on our wonderful day. Her communication was impeccable, she met with us and talked with us as many times as we needed in order to make our ceremony exactly what we had dreamed of it being. There was not a single dry eye in the house over the wonderful way she put our ceremony together and included every single small unique detail into our ceremony we requested. Nothing was too hard for her, she learnt new techniques just to aid us in our ceremony which shows the long way she is willing to go for her clients. I would recommend Rebecca over and over again for any ceremony you are looking for. She is the absolute definition of an amazing, perfect celebrant. After a couple of meetings in the lead up to the wedding, a few stories told by my husband and I, it was like she’d known us for years and was a close friend! The script she wrote for our wedding was so personal to us and we could tell that she spent a lot of time to make it so meaningful, special, personalised and a little cheeky at just the right bits!
